We do not mark no-shows for outdoor games if the weather conditions are less than perfect.

A player no showed an outdoor event due to unpredictable weather conditions. What should I do?

We recommend that all players be registered on HKVB to attend our event. It's free and only takes minutes.

A player wants to bring a friend that is not a member of HKVB to an event. What should I do?

We do not encourage double bookings. If you are nice, you can go out of your way to inform to ask them to choose or else feel free to remove them from your list with an email.

A player is signed up on my game and another game around the same time.

Tell him nicely that his attitude is making others uncomfortable and report the incident to admins@hkvb.org with the person name and the context of the situation. Also, feel free to exclude him/her from your future games.

A player is talking down to other players and/or making other players uncomfortable. What should I do.

Some Players showed up unexpectedly and were not on the RSVP list. What do I do.

It is entirely up to you but we suggest that you go with your original number of players (since that was what was advertised and people are sharing the fees). If you have no-shows, go ahead and fill them in but if everyone shows, we suggest you keep your game closed to surprise visitors.

I can't log into LCSD website at 7:00am? It tells me to retry!

That just means you've missed the mark of 7am sharp, Keep trying but remember tomorrow to start just seconds earlier. Tip: Remember to get to the Captcha screen first and click at 7am sharp!

How do you book 3 hours on the LCSD website? It only allows 2!

You'll need a second ID for the 3rd hour. A good way is to coordinate with other EOs or get a 2nd ID.

I booked a court and now I can't make it, what do I do?

LCSD does not take photocopy or images of IDs to check in. The only way to secure the court is to have someone get in line 10 minutes after your gym time to register for the court with their HKID. A good way is to find someone on your RSVP list that is an EO or Admin and see if that can host the event for you.

People are getting upset at me for not letting them in. What did I do wrong?

First, make sure your game RSVP matches what you advertise. For example, if you say the game is ALL levels, you should NOT give Advanced players priority and vice versa. Here's a breakdown list of the common used terms:

ALL LEVELS - Everyone can join with equal chance at RSVP

INT - Intermediate 1 and 2s get priority over beginners and advanced

INT/ADV - Intermediate 1 and 2 and ADV get priority

INT2/ADV - Int2 and Advanced only

321 INT/ADV - A combination of 3-2-1 on each team. For instance 3 ADV/2Int2/1Int1 player per team.

League - Only captains are allowed to add their team members. You must be on a team to join.

There are many more that are self explanatory: MENS. WOMENS. COED.REV-COED, ADV only, RATED Only, Unrated Only. If admins see postings that are inconsistent with the advertised play, we will remind you to change the posting.

Someone removed themselves from the RSVP list before the event so I ended up with 1 less player. What do I do?

First, divide the fees up by the number of attendees. Then mark them as no-show anyway even if they removed themselves. This is why we suggest checking the [x]EMAIL EVENT HOSTS when members RSVP box in your meetup. You can always trace back through your email trail.

Some player wants to SWAP spots between my game and another EOs game. Do I allow that?

You are not obliged to do so but the decision is entirely up to you to swap for them or put the next in line in from the waiting list if he removes himself.

Players NOT meeting the play requirements are signing up to my games. Can I remove them from the waitlist?

Yes. Please do so and just leave a description in your posting that you will be doing that. With a long waitlist, it may discourage players qualified to play to waitlist.

My game is a week away and I can't fill it up. What do I do?

Email admins@hkvb.org immediately and we can help feature your site on the front page.

Balls, RSVP list, your ID card (or the person whom the court is booked under). Remind players to bring balls too. You need 9 balls to warm up 18 people!

What else should I bring (or ask players to bring)?

That really depends on what type of game. For indoors, we recommend 14 for a 2 hour event and 18 for a 3 hour event. This way, if there are any last minute no shows you still have a game. For beach games, 8 seems like a good number to start with up to as many as you have nets for.

How Many players should I allow in the RSVP?

How much are the courts and how do I pay?

Each hour costs 236 HKD for indoor booking within Hong Kong and Kowloon. For NT it is slightly cheaper. Outdoor and beach courts are free of charge. For the internet indoor bookings, a credit card is required and will be charged at the time of booking.

Do we allow minors (under 18) into games?

Minors are required to ask their parents to fill out an online consent form in order to participate our events. Link here: http://wisers.polldaddy.com/s/consent-form. If you are an event organizer, ask an admin for access to the consent files should a minor sign up for your game. We suggest you ask for age verification during the RSVP process if you are concerned about this.
