Indoor Court Booking

using the LCSD website

Using Profiles.

With over 1000 members and growing, chances are your events will be filled up in no time and hassle free - We have games fill up within 5 minutes of posting from popular Event Organizers! However, make sure you follow these simple guidelines to ensure success of your event!

First, decide on whether you want to host an indoor or outdoor event.
Indoor gym bookings are done through the LCSD websites at 7:00am sharp daily for courts 10 days later. The website for LCSD is: http://w1.leisurelink.lcsd.gov.hk/index/index.jsp

Here are some simple steps to court booking:
1. Start by Applying for your own LCSD account through the [New Registration button]

Outdoor courts can be booked only in person at the District Leisure Services Offices and they are FREE OF CHARGE.

2.  [Enquiry about facility booking status within 11 days button] allows you to see court availability the day before you actually book.

3. Then select [Facility Booking - Personalized Version] to setup your own booking profiles (based on whats available in step 2). Use short numeric names if possible to reduce typing when logging in.

4. On the morning of your booking, log into the system only after 7:00am (if you log in before, it will be yesterday's booking records). To do this right, you'll need some timing. Some start at 6:59:50 and others at 6:59:58. Test it out to see what timing works best for your computer and connection.

5. If you are lucky enough to get in at 7am, immediately select Facility Booking - Personalized Version along with your profile number. Make sure you do this FAST!

6. If you are lucky enough to get your court booking, congratulations! If not, quickly select another profile number or click [jump to normal booking] to browse additional courts manually.

7. Weekday courts are the hardest to book, followed by Saturday afternoons. Sundays are the easiest.

8. There's a whatsapp channel that Event Organizer use to coordinate bookings, if you are interested, please message tony@hkvb.org or 96880003 to get you added. This will prevent us from overlapping our bookings for similar event types as well as provide assistance!

LCSD does not take photocopy or images of IDs to check in. The only way to secure the court is to have someone get in line 10 minutes after your gym time to register for the court with their HKID. A good way is to find someone on your RSVP list that is an EO or Admin and see if that can host the event for you.

I booked a court and now I can't make it, what do I do?

You'll need a second ID for the 3rd hour. A good way is to coordinate with other EOs or get a 2nd ID.

How do you book 3 hours on the LCSD website? It only allows 2!

That just means you've missed the mark of 7am sharp, Keep trying but remember tomorrow to start just seconds earlier. Tip: Remember to get to the Captcha screen first and click at 7am sharp!

I can't log into LCSD website at 7:00am? It tells me to retry!

FAQs

How much are the courts and how do I pay?

Each hour costs 236 HKD for indoor booking within Hong Kong and Kowloon. For NT it is slightly cheaper. Outdoor and beach courts are free of charge. For the internet indoor bookings, a credit card is required and will be charged at the time of booking.

If you book it, they will come!

PLEASE NOTE: LCSD has announced that starting from June 18th, bookings will be shortened to 10 days before event date.

4. You need to bring your ID card.

5. You need to fill in the booking form http://www.lcsd.gov.hk/en/forms/lcs218.pdf

6. With each ID card you can book a maximum of 2 hours per application. Some districts allow you to hand in more than one application form per ID, but some (the busier ones) will only allow you to hand in only ONE application at a time (which means that you might need to queue up again and again if you want to book the court for more than 2 hours and for different days).

7. You should try to coordinate this together with other members so you can use more IDs for faster booking.

8. Some outdoor volleyball courts do not have nets (i.e. Sheung Wan), so you need to bring  your own nets or request LCSD for net set up.

9. Once the booking is complete you will receive a paper confirmation for each booking application (attachment).

10. Remember to always bring the paper confirmation with you on game day. We've had disputes with walk-ons before and the paperwork is the only proof that the court does indeed belong to you.

Every 20th of each month the booking for the following month will open up. Further details are available at the LCSD website: http://www.lcsd.gov.hk/en/ls_fac_book_nonfee_individual.php

There are few points to note when booking an outdoor court:

1. Since the booking is on a first-come-first-served basis, you should go to the district booking office the earliest possible.

2. If you want to book for month M, the balloting opens on 20th of M-1.

3. Note that on the 20th the booking office may be very crowded.
